South Dakota Solid Waste Management Association Scholarship	Three Scholarships Students must pursue a study relating to the protection and enhancement of our natural resources and environment, the solid waste industry and similar fields. Dakota Corps Scholarship	This is a competitive scholarship that pays tuition and fees to colleges or tech schools in SD. Must agree to stay in SD to work in critical need occupation such as K-12 music, special education, foreign language, or as a high school math or science teacher in a public, private, or parochial school. Other critical need occupations include a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or other positions within an allied health field. South Dakota Engineering Society	$2,000 Scholarship Students who plan to attend SDSU or SD School of Mines & Technology may apply for the scholarship. National Honor Society	(100) $1,000 The National Honor Society Scholarship program is a nomination process. Students cannot apply directly to NHS and nomination forms cannot be sent to students or parents by the national office. Nomination procedures must be obtained through the high school NHS Chapter Adviser. Only currently affiliated NHS Chapters may participate in the program. Two state finalists are selected from each state to receive $1,000 scholarships. From the state finalists, a state winner is selected to receive an additional $500. Among the state winners, 9 regional winners are chosen to receive an additional $1,500 for a total of $3,000. Davenport Scholarship	(4) $2,500 (5) $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded to nine HS seniors to be used for costs of attending a SD institution of higher learning. Student's parents must reside within a Golden West Telecommunications service area and subscribe to at least one service. Dells Forward Youth Scholarship	(4) $300 Four scholarships (two to each school in Dell Rapids) to individuals whose lives demonstrate the characteristics of forward thinking, volunteerism and service to the community. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage youth from our community to further their education.
